Al Prosecco

¢-$, Italian, Santa Croce

User Rating: **** 4.2

Fodor's Review:

Locals stream into this place, order the "spritz bitter" (a combination of white wine, Campari, and seltzer water), and continue on their way. Or they linger over a glass of one of the numerous wines on offer, perhaps also tucking into a tasty panino, such as the porchetta romane verdure (roasted pig, Roman style, with greens). Proprietors Davide and Stefano preside over a young and friendly staff who reel off the day's specials with ease. There are a few tables in the enticing back room, and when the weather's warm, you can eat outside on a beautiful campo.

Our First Stop in Venice

Posted by Kyla_McD from Cumming, Georgia on 5/18/08

The clerk at our hotel recommended Al Prosecco for a late afternoon snack when we arrived in Venice. It is in a beautiful piazza and is very local. We only had a snack so I can't really comment on the food, but the wine was perfect!
