Umbria and the Marches Restaurants

La Pallotta

La Pallotta Review

At this homey, family-run trattoria with a crackling fireplace and stone walls, the women do the cooking and the men serve the food. Try the stringozzi alla pallotta (thick spaghetti with a pesto of olives and mushrooms). Connected to the restaurant is an inn whose eight rooms have firm beds and some views across the rooftops of town. Hotel guests get a discount if they dine here.

This was the second time (and wont be the last!) I’ve been at Hotel Pallotta (had been there the first time in Sept/2006). I found it by chance surfing the net and it was such a wonderful surprise!

It’s very charming, the rooms and bathroooms are spotless, it’s well located, the family treat you so well, you don’t want to leave, the price is more than reasonable and includes a great and hearty breakfast! I’ve already recommended it to friends who liked it as much as I did and will go there again as well!

The family restaurant, Trattoria Pallotta, across the square, has wonderful food (and service) – make sure to go there at least once, but make a reservation, as it’s very popular (including among the locals, which is the best reference one could get).
