Museo Etrusco Guarnacci

Fodor's Review:

Volterra has some of Italy's best small museums. The extraordinarily large and unique collection of Etruscan artifacts at the Museo Etrusco Guarnacci is a treasure in the region. (Many of the other Etruscan finds from the area have been shipped off to state museums or the Vatican.) If only a curator had thought to cull the best of the 700 funerary urns rather than to display every last one of them.

  • Cost: EUR 8, includes admission to Pinoteca
  • Open: Mid-Mar.-early Nov., daily 9-6:45; early Nov.-mid-Mar., daily 9-1:15
