Chiusarelli Review

Caryatids stud the grounds of this well-kept neoclassical villa; a small garden invites reading. Guest rooms are functional, airy, and reasonably quiet, but the handy location—near the long-distance bus terminal and parking area, and minutes away from the main sights—is the big plus here, that and the pleasant staff. Single rooms are not the usual monastic-cell size. Head downstairs to the restaurant for inexpensive meals.

    Hotel Chiusarelli, Siena, Italy

We stayed at the Hotel Chiusarelli (Siena, Italy) for four nights. We loved this hotel. The hotel had a great breakfast and lovely breakfast room. The hotel itself had a sense of simple, aged elegance. Because its location is a couple minute walk from the main bus station this is a desirable choice for anyone traveling in the region by bus. A day-trip by bus to a neighboring town was an easy adventure.

Soon after we checked in, we realized the room was just too small for an extended stay of four nights, so we asked if another room was available. One with a terrace was available the following night for the remainder of our stay and for no extra charge. The staff moved our luggage for us the next day while we were out sightseeing. We originally asked for a quiet room on the back side of the hotel and received it, even after we switched rooms.

We peppered the staff with numerous questions daily; they responded politely and enthusiastically to each and every one of them.

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel and their staff. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Siena.
