Castello Vicchiomaggio Review

Stay in a fortified castle built more than a millennium ago (and rebuilt during the Renaissance). Today, in addition to being a charming inn, it is a prestigious wine estate where you can taste local vintages. The restaurant ($$-$$$$) serves homemade pastas and specialties such as stracotto, beef cooked in the farm's own prize-winning Chianti Classico. Throughout the main building and two nearby farmhouses you'll find wonderful heavy wooden furniture.
