Ferdinando I loved to hunt, and so erected his villa to accommodate this whim. His servants bunked in what is now this lovely, tranquil hotel in the middle of lush countryside. Some of the simply but elegantly furnished rooms look out on a view that doesn't quit; others face flowers and a pool. If you're contemplating a longer stay, consider renting one of the apartments in centuries-old buildings dotting the surrounding area. To get here, take the Pi-Fi-Li to the Montelupo exit and follow the signs for Artimino.
