If you want to have a terrific dinner without breaking the bank (at least by Forte dei Marmi standards), have a meal at this lively beachfront (though there are no water views) trattoria. Outdoor seating and candlelit tables provide a romantic setting, and the rosemary and olive-oil foccacina, hot from the wood-burning oven, whet the appetite. The menu offers a little of everything, including oysters on the half shell, and a lovely local specialty, la vaporata di mare: in this case, steamed squid and other fishes served on a bed of local, organic lettuce. The pizziauoli (the guys who make pizza) also know their stuff, and are a perfect option if you want to keep the bill low. Though the atmosphere is decidedly casual, this osteria boasts a fantastic sommelier named Sokol—a rarity in osterie.
