Fodor's Review:

The curving, tiered apse on Piazza Grande belongs to Pieve di Santa Maria, one of Tuscany's finest Romanesque churches, built in the 12th century. Don't miss the Portale Maggiore (great door) with its polychrome figures representing the months; restored in 2002, they are remarkably vibrant.

  • Open: May-Sept., daily 8-1 and 3-7; Oct.-Apr., daily 8-noon and 3-6
