Alberto Pavoncelli converted his family's summer home, just minutes from the town center, into a splendid inn. Set in extensive gardens with hammocks hidden here and there, the hotel's emphasis is on tranquillity and relaxation. The well-appointed rooms are located in four separate cottages; breakfast is served in a fifth. Reproductions of Columbian artist Fernando Botero's paintings add a touch of whimsy. A fodors.com user wrote: "the view of San Biagio and Montepulciano is stunning." Pros: King-size beds in most rooms, functioning fireplaces, relaxed but attentive service. Cons: Cottages can be chilly, need a car to get around.
