Fodor's Review:

Bright flowers provide a dash of color at this classic Tuscan dining room, and stenciled designs on the ceilings add some whimsy. The wooden cupboards (now filled with wine bottles) lining the walls recall its past as a turn-of-the-19th-century grocery store. The menu, with four or five primi (first courses) and secondi (second courses) changes regularly, but almost always includes their classic malfatti all'osteria (ricotta and spinach dumplings in a cream sauce). Desserts such as coni con mousse al cioccolato e gelato allo zafferano (two diminutive ice-cream cones with chocolate mousse and saffron ice cream) provide an inventive ending to the meal. When not vying for one of the outdoor tables, make sure to ask for one in the main downstairs room.

It was good--but didn't quite meet my expectations

Our meal at Le Logge was good. It wasn't overpriced. But I could have been just as happy with a smaller, less expensive meal. We were seated upstairs. The service was good. We split the antipasto (9¬), which was "Ravaggiolo con insalata profumata alla menta," which was a plate of greens with six daubs of the fluffiest, white, whipped fresh cheese. It is very light, cool, and refreshing. We split two primi (9.50¬ each). One was "ravioli di ricotta con pomodori San Marzano"five round ravioli filled with ricotta with a light tomato sauce. The second was "tagliatelle con asparagi bianchi e verdi e ricotta infornata," a small to medium-sized heap of flat 1/4" wide noodles mixed with ricotta cheese and bits of white and green asparagus. Both were excellent! My husband had for his secondo (¬22) "filleto di manzo con porcini grigliati," a beef filet with grilled porcini mushrooms with lots of au jus. It was extremely tender and tasty. I had (16¬) "petto di anatra confit con fruitti di bosco," duck breast grilled with a small portion of mixed berries (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and a teeny round red berry I've never seen before). It is so-so. I would not order it again. We enjoyed a bottle of Gianni Brunelli 2004 Rosso di Montalcino, which tasted great with both secondi. Gianni Brunelli is the owner of Le Logge and also a producer of wine.
