$$$$, Courmayeur
Fodor's Review:
Run with the friendly charm and efficiency of Franco Cavaliere and his son Stefano, the Novecento is a peaceful haven near Courmayeur's otherwise busy center. In keeping with the style of a comfortable mountain lodge, the lounge is warmed by a log fire in winter. Traditional fabrics, wooden furnishings, and early-19th-century prints lend a soothing quality to the rooms. The restaurant ($$-$$$), with only a few extra tables for nonguests, serves creative adaptations of traditional cuisine; it's a good choice for a relaxed evening meal after an active day on the slopes.
