Fodor's Review

If you want to believe that Juliet is buried in this old chapel near the river, you'll have to put aside the fact that the structure is a former orphanage and Franciscan monastery. In the crypt there's an open sarcophagus labeled as Juliet's tomb that was fashioned in 1937 for tourist purposes; by conducting civil weddings in the chapel, the city of Verona perpetuates the fantasy that Romeo and Juliet existed and were married here.
