Fodor's Review

Founded in 1872, when the city inherited the palazzo, library, and art collection of Baron Pasquale Revoltella, a shipping magnate, the museum exhibits almost exclusively 19th- and 20th-century Italian art. Along with the palace, the museum presents a good picture of the tastes of a Triestino captain of industry during the city's days of glory. The rooftop café, where the view rivals the artworks, is open some evenings in summer.
