This former stable bursts with character, its beautiful courtyard shaded by grape arbors. The menu includes a wide choice of traditional Friuli home cooking prepared simply. As an appetizer, try the prized prosciutto from the neighboring village of San Daniele, which some regard even more highly than the famous Parma version. Start with cjalzòns (the region's answer to ravioli), or the mignàculis con luagne (pasta with local sausage), followed by Friuli classics such as frico con patate (hash-brown potatoes with Montasio cheese) or goulash with polenta. On Friday there are also fish dishes. There's a great selection of wines by the glass.
