Fodor's Review

No visit to Padua is complete without taking time to sit in this massive café, as the French novelist Stendhal did shortly after it was established, in 1831. Nearly 200 years later, it remains central to the city's social life. The café was built in the Egyptian Revival style, which became popular after Napoléon's expeditions in Egypt. The accomplished restaurant serves only lunch and is proud of its innovative menu.
