Tempio Canoviano Review

This church, designed by Canova in 1819 and finished in 1830, combines motifs from the rotunda of the Roman Pantheon and the pronaos (inner portico) of the Parthenon. It contains several works by Canova, including his tomb, along with paintings by Luca Giordano, Palma il Giovane, and il Pordenone. One of the most impressive and historically significant neo-classical buildings in Italy, theTempio is in the village of Possagno, a short drive north of Asolo.
