Appearances are deceptive at this modern hotel on the beach about a 10-minute walk from the village. From the outside, the stone construction seems austere, but the courtyards and interior—with fresh flowers, potted plants, and cool, airy rooms—are colorful and vibrant. Pro: Sports facilities are among the best in the area with a pool and tennis court. Con: Service is not as friendly as other places in town.

We had rooms in the back, overlooking the garden and they were absolutely quiet and quite comfortable. The hotel's location is beautiful, and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. And then came Friday night--a nearly disco blasted unbelieveably loud music well into the wee hours of Saturday morning, making it impossible to sleep or even to talk! I would have left on Saturday if the front desk clerk has not assured me that it only happened on Fridays. And Saturday night was quiet again. Plan accordingly.
