In the heart of the city, near Via Roma, the grand shopping street, and one block from Piazza de Ferrari, which divides new Genoa from old Genoa, a bland apartment-building exterior gives way to a polished lobby and light, modern rooms. Suites, on the top floor, have spectacular views, as do many of the standard rooms on the upper floors. A choice of pillows—firm and low, or fluffy and soft—and coffeemakers in all the rooms are pleasant added touches. Pro: Location can't be beat. Con: Regular rooms are small.
