Fodor's Review:

This is arguably Liguria's second most luxurious resort after the Splendido in Portofino. Rooms here have a mixture of modern amenities and antique furnishings and most have views of the sea. The heated seawater swimming pool, open April through October, is in a large tropical garden. On the terrace, candlelight dining and music are offered each night in warm weather. Keep your eyes open for off-season discounts. The Royal is only a few paces from the casino. Pro: All the expected high-end amenities. Cons: Some of the property seems outdated, meals and beverages on the premises are expensive.
