Fodor's Review

You get a unique experience here, at what is probably the cheapest place to stay in the city. Originally a monastery, but recently turned into what the owners modestly describe as a "backpackers hostel," the Controra provides its own entertainment: it hosts film showings, art exhibitions, alternative conferences, and themed parties. There are only a few private rooms, but if you have a spirit of adventure and like meeting others, the kitsch retro-designed dorms here offer

the perfect place to do so.
