This coaching inn, dating to the 16th century, is on an old Roman road a couple of miles outside Frascati. It has a charming garden shaded by the old fig tree that gave the place its name. The dining room has been tastefully renovated, preserving many of old-fashioned features. The menu offers a wide choice of typical Roman dishes, such as spaghetti cacio e pepe (spaghetti with sheep's cheese and pepper) and abbacchio allo scottadito (literally "burn your
fingers grilled lamb"). Do not confuse this with the more modern Ristorante Al Fico across the road.
