Gabriella and Patricia Cinelli operate this hotel and restaurant beside the entrance to Villa Hadrian. The sisters have preserved the character and old-world elegance of the original 19th-century mansion while introducing 21st-century comforts that include air-conditioning, satellite TV, safes, and Internet access. Suite 14 is the most in demand, not only because it overlooks Hadrian's villa, but also because the Belgian writer Marguerite Yourcenar occupied it while writing her epic Memoirs of Hadrian. The restaurant, a handy spot for lunch before or after touring the ruins, serves delicacies such as risotto ai fiori di zucchine (with zucchini flowers). In summer, you can dine alfresco in the garden.
