Domus Aurea

Fodor's Review:

The newest hotel in the area, Domus Aurea still manages to feel old-fashioned. The sofa-filled lounge is comfortable, if evocative of a cruise ship with its tacky decor. Superior rooms overlook the temple, while junior suites in a small tower have terraces with even better panoramas. Domus Aurea is 3 km (2 mi) southeast of old town—next to Foresteria Baglio della Luna and equally hard to find. Pros: Friendly staff, relaxing terrace and garden, great temple views from some rooms. Cons: Rooms and bathrooms are small, decor is sometimes unattractive, hard to find.
