This small and friendly "retro" restaurant is a favorite among locals who pine for the rustic dishes served by their ancestors. A meal begins when the server plunks down a carafe of the house red and a superb spread of traditional antipasti on your table. Dishes have old-fashioned names: fave a cunigghiu is fava beans prepared with olive oil, garlic, and remarkably flavorful oregano; and pasta al'anciova, with a concentrated sauce of tomatoes and anchovies. The meal ends well, too, with free house-made herb or fruit liquors and excellent cannoli.
