This wonderful restaurant in the city center alone justifies a trip to Caltanisetta. The theme here is local piatti della tradizione (plates of tradition), from an antipasto of the typical cheeses and salumi (cured meats) of Sicily, to casarecce (hand-rolled pasta tubes) with broccoli, tomatoes, and anchovies, to a mind-blowing sampler of three different juicy grilled sausages: lepre (hare), cinghiale (wild boar), and al limone (lemon-infused). The yellow walls, painted with Goethe's words of praise for Sicily, give a warmth to the space. The price is right, too.
