Cefalù
The coast between Palermo and Messina is spotted with charming villages. Tindari (which dates back to the early Christian era) and Laghetti di Maranello are two that are worth a stop, but it's Cefalù, a classically appealing Sicilian old town built on a spur jutting out into the sea, that's the jewel of the coast.
