When to Go
The best time to visit Sardinia is May through September. European vacationers flock to the island for sunshine in July and August. Expect to pay the highest rates during these two peak summer months, when roads, tourist sites, and beaches are most crowded. From September to early October, when accommodations start to shut down for the year, you'll find end-of-season deals and fewer tourists. Any other time of year, expect near ghost towns—with closed restaurants, hotels, and shops.
