Cervo Hotel, Costa Smeralda Resort Review

Designed in 1963 by architect Luigi Vietti, the Cervo Hotel is an integral part of the surrounding village. Low Mediterranean buildings with Spanish tile roofs surround a large pool and garden in the heart of the Costa Smeralda's Porto Cervo. Somewhat stuck in time and feeling dated, colorful painted wood furniture and slip-covered sofas fill the white adobe rooms; most have a terrace. The five tennis courts are lighted at night. High-season prices (half board required) are through the roof, but in winter, prices fall to as low as one-tenth the summer rate. This Starwood Sheraton hotel complex is next to the marina and piazzetta (small piazza)—a popular spot to see and be seen.
