Museo Archeologica "Ferruccio Barrecca"

Museo Archeologica "Ferruccio Barrecca" Review

Before leaving the main town, also called Sant'Antioco, take time to visit the Zona Archeologica at the top of the old section, which has terrific views of the Sardinian mainland. Here you can see a Punic necropolis and burial site scattered with urns that contained the cremated remains of stillborn children. Admission includes a guided tour and entry to the on-site ethnographic and archaeological museum that showcases artifacts from Neolithic origins to Byzantine and Roman epochs. Most derive from the tophet, or sanctuary.
