Villa Las Tronas Review

Privacy, elegance, and charm are among the draws to this secluded mansion estate. Built more than a century ago, the stunning palace-hotel still holds original treasures, including gold tapestries, red velvet cushions, crystal chandeliers and marble floors. Guests often congregate in the main lounge or in the adjoining billiard room for after-dinner drinks. Belle Epoque interiors have ornate gilt chairs, canopy-draped beds, and vaulted ceilings. The Villa is on a rocky promontory—above the sea but still near the center—and there are spacious balconies for great views from every room. The luxury spa has a variety of treatments as well as a gym and an illuminated swimming pool. In summer, guests can relax at the outdoor pool, beach bar and sun terrace. Service is elegant and impeccable, especially in the restaurant where black-tie waiters and silver-domed platters are complemented by the sound of live piano and, occasionally, an opera singer. The hotel is open year-round, a rarity in these parts.
