Festa di Sant'Efisio

Festa di Sant'Efisio Review

From May 1 to 4, thousands of costumed villagers parade through town during Sardinia's greatest annual festival, the Festa di Sant'Efisio, named after the martyred saint who saved the city from the plague in the 17th century. The festival is part of a four-day procession from Cagliari to Nuoro and back again. Search for the saint's statue being passed along in flower-lined streets. The festival is one of the world's most renowned religious celebrations and the island's most significant event of traditional culture.
