Fodor's Review

A former fortress, Venetian embassy, and Fascist headquarters, Palazzo Venezia has a rich history of popes, dictators, and architects including Leon Battista Alberti. Its latest revival as a national museum brings a great permanent collection to the center of Rome. Works include pieces by Bernini, Giorgione, and Guercino, and the piano nobile (noble floor) hosts private exhibitions of international acclaim.
