Alinari is Italy's equivalent of the Bettman Archive and celebrated the firm's 150th anniversary in 2002. Founded in Florence as the Fratelli Alinari, this trio of brothers made their name with beautiful sepia collotypes of famous Italian landmarks, soon prized as souvenirs by 19th-century Grand Tour-ists. In this gallery-store you can browse through early photographs of Rome, art and photography books, and high-quality lithographs, made with the traditional collotype process, of which Alinari are the last, proud custodians.
