The name means "desire grabbed by the tail" and is surely in the running for the most original restaurant name in Rome. Tucked behind Piazza Navona, the walls of this modern-ish eatery are adorned with contemporary art, some of which was done by the wife of one of the owners. Service in this austerely lighted and furnished space can range from knowledgeable to frigid, but often the food can make up for it. The small menu changes often and has a Tuscan slant and includes such dishes as pappa al pomodoro (a Tuscan bread and tomato soup), fig risotto, and polpettone (meat loaf), the perfect comfort food.

Having been invited to Rome for the opening night of a friends art show, the restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. I wasn't sure what to expect and on arrival was pleased to see the walls of the restaurant covered with the art which created a colourful and interesting scene. I speak no Italian and yet was made to feel very welcome by the staff who made every effort to communicate with me.
A variety of appertisers were put out early in the evening for the guests and this was followed by a meal later. The food, I was told was typical Italian cuisine and consisted of soup, risotto, meat balls and vegetables followed by desert. The food was both interesting and enjoyable and was served with both red and white wine.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was very lively and was also enjoyed by several people who just came in off the street to have a meal.
All in all it was an excellent evening and I would certainly visit again.
