Fodor's Review

Grand Hotel Parco dei Principi. The 1960s-era facade of this large, seven-story hotel contrasts with the turn-of-the-20th-century Italian court decor and the extensive botanical garden outside, resulting in a combination of traditional elegance and contemporary pleasure. Windows in every room look out over an ocean of green, surmounted by St. Peter's dome; the hotel has a wonderful free-form swimming pool, a piano bar with stained glass and carved walnut appointments,

an uber-chic spa, and chamber music in the garden.

Good hotel;far from attractions

Parco dei Principi has a great location on the north side of Villa Borghese but it is not close to main sites. There are buses that you can take but that can be tiresome. Booked a junior suite which was large, clean, with a big bathroom, separate dressing area and had a beautiful view over the park to St. Peter's. Breakfast included was decent; staff overall was good - not too friendly - but efficient. Go over 3 blocks to the Via Rossini which has

a lot of very good restaurants and not too touristy since this is a more residential area. I'd recommend this place to older couples; not so much for families.
