Albergo Santa Chiara Review

If you're looking for a good location (right behind the Pantheon) and top-notch service at great prices—not to mention comfortable beds and a quiet stay—look no further than this historic hotel, run by the same family for some 200 years. Guests choose it not only for its prime spot behind the Pantheon and across the way from Santa Maria sopra Minerva, but also because of its warm and welcoming staff. The decor is nothing to write home about: the lobby is an all-white affair with furniture you might find in your grandmother's house, and some rooms are a bit bland. For families or those looking for a bit more space, Santa Chiara also rents out three apartments, for two to five people, with full kitchens.

    Perfect for Grandparents/Grandchildren

Perfect location. One can walk to almost any sight in the city. Outstanding breakfast. Just the way to start the day.Very helpful staff. Other reviews site noisy streets. Fair enough but you are in the center of Rome. The city is alive. Expect the activity. Enjoy it.Any number of great, moderate priced restaurants close by if you stay clear of the tourist traps in Piazza Navona /della Rotunda. Outstanding gelato places just around the corner. This hotel was perfect for our trip.

    Elegant and convenient!

This is an excellent choice if you are looking to stay in the heart of Rome. Fodor's description is very accurate. We stayed in Room 324, which faces an inner courtyard (which was pretty)so our room was quiet and restful. The only sounds we heard were the church bells. The sheets were crisp, white, ironed, and fabulous to climb into after a long day of walking! The Breakfast buffet was very good and included various cold meats and cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, various yummy breads/pastries, coffee, and tea. If you want a cappuccino, request it from the waitstaff and they will make you one. It was wonderful! The front desk staff were reserved but very helpful. In particular, Federica helped us many times to secure tickets and book tours. She even stayed late one day to ensure we were booked for a tour we wanted to take. We enjoyed our stay at Albergo Santa Chiara and would definitely stay there again.

    Albergo Santa Chiara Review

Lovely hotel, great rooms and location, but only one staffer(and no guest) has access to the lobby computer, so when she is off, no one can help with obtaining any online information. This means using an internet point several blocks away---- really bizarre for an upscale hotel!
