$-$$$, Italian, Via Appia Antica
Fodor's Review:
From the entrance on Via Appia Antica, almost opposite the catacombs, you walk uphill to a low-lying but sprawling construction designed for wedding feasts and banquets. There's a large terrace shaded by vines for outdoor dining. Although obviously geared to larger groups, Cecilia Metella also gives individuals and small groups good service and traditional Roman cuisine. The specialties are the scrigno alla Cecilia (baked green noodles) and pollo al Nerone (chicken à la Nero -- flambéed, of course).
