On a side street a block from the Vatican Museums, this family-operated hotel offers excellent value in a neighborhood with moderately priced shops and restaurants. A spiffy lobby, spacious lounges, a tavern, terraces, and roof gardens are some of the perks, as is an exercise room equipped with step machines and a treadmill. Rooms are spacious and well-furnished; many can accommodate extra beds. Needless to say, the location here is quite far away from Rome's historic center. Pros: nice family-owned hotel with a friendly staff, a terrace, a tavern, and a gym. Cons: breakfast is a good spread but it goes quickly; rooms are small; not close to much of interest other than the Vatican.

We stayed at the alimandi B&b, an apartment around the back of alimandi vaticano and across the street from alimandi tunisi. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was excellent and the location was nice. Easy access to metro, bus etc. They included the amendities from the sister hotels such as breakfast, shuttle service, bar, internet, etc... We would definitely return. We stayed in the double room but they also offered an apartment with kitchenette, washer/dryer. That would be great for a small group.
