Travelers with shopping on their minds will appreciate the position of this quietly chic hotel set in a centuries-old palazzo near Piazza San Silvestro, a short walk from the Spanish Steps. The old palazzo has been remodeled to provide spacious lounges and a glassed-in garden courtyard; a small private art collection is also on view. Guest rooms, cleverly furnished with sharp gray, black, and red tones, have been designed to create an illusion of space, though they are
actually petite. Some rooms have balconies or terraces on the interior court, and the hotel offers free bicycles for guests to putter around the city.

It didn't wow me but the room was clean and fine, on the small side and contemporary decor. The bath was modern. The lobby is nicely appointed, breakfast was fine and service was good. The location is pretty central, though next trip I would stay at the top of the Spanish Steps where the more fashionable shops and hotels are located.
