Eagles and dragons, symbols of the Borghese family, crown the imposing portico of this pretty church, an early Christian basilica that was done over in the Middle Ages and again in the 17th century. The soaring medieval bell tower can best be seen from the little piazza flanking the church or from the other side of Viale Trastevere. San Crisogono is the religious focus of a lively festival honoring Trastevere's patron, the Madonna of Noantri, with a procession on July 15.
