Colonna di Marco Aurelio

  • Address: Piazza Colonna, around Via del Corso, Rome | Map It

Fodor's Review:

Inspired by Trajan's Column, this 2nd-century AD column is composed of 27 blocks of marble covered with a series of reliefs recording Marcus Aurelius's victory over the Germans. At the top is a bronze statue of St. Paul, which replaced the effigy of Marcus Aurelius in the 16th century. The column is the centerpiece of Piazza Colonna.
