After the summer opera season was evicted from the ruins of the ancient Terme di Caracalla, the debate over a permanent open-air venue continues. The city's Olympic Stadium has been summer opera's home in recent years, and temporary venues such as the Piazza del Popolo have also been used. Call the Teatro dell'Opera (06/48160255. www.operaroma.it) for tickets and information.
