This cute jewel box of a restaurant on the amphitheater-shape street behind Campo de' Fiori serves the namesake fried fish, and much more. It feels like an escape to the Mediterranean, all whitewashed with touches of pale sea blue. Much of the cuisine echoes this, with heavy incorporation of seaside favorites like octopus, spigola (sea bass) and bottarga (roe). Especially delicious are the pasta with clams and fish prepared many different ways. The few missteps happen when the cooks try to get too creative, so stick to the southern classics and enjoy this virtual seaside escape.
