Fodor's Review

There's no Japanese food here, per se, but this "mozzarella bar" is based on the idea of a sushi bar, with chefs working behind a "mozzarella counter" and the platters presented to look like sushi rolls. The decor continues the theme, as modern Japanese minimalism meets ancient Roman grandeur, but it's still the cheese in all its varieties that's the focus. There are familiar cow's-milk selections, more unique offerings like a delectable water buffalo–milk ricotta, as well as a rich Pugliese burrata. There are cured meats, vegetables, sauces, and breads to complement the cheese. The outdoor deck is a great spot for dining alfresco. There are other locations in Campo de' Fiori (corner of Via dei Baullari; 06/68802366) and in Parioli (Via Guido d'Arezzo 49; 06/685344184).
