Fodor's Review

A favorite among international journalists and the rich and famous for decades, Nino is Rome's best loved dressed-up trattoria. The interior is country rustic alla toscana, and the menu accordingly sticks to the classics, featuring Roman and Tuscan staples. Start with a selection of antipasti or the warm crostini spread with pâté. Move on to pappardelle al lepre (a rich hare sauce) or hearty Tuscan ribollita, and go for the gold with a piece of juicy grilled beef. If you're not Italian or a regular or a celebrity, the chance of brusque service multiplies—insist on good service and you'll win the waiters' respect.
