Fodor's Review

An old standby in Prati, Cesare is a willing slave to tradition. Classic fish dishes like marinated fresh anchovies and sardines, and an excellent mixed seafood salad, quell seafood cravings. Homemade pasta with meat sauce is the primo to order, and saltimbocca (thinly sliced veal with prosciutto and sage) or the thick Florentine steak are the ultimate meat lover's dishes. The €40 menu toscano is a great, multicourse value. The general menu's tendency toward hearty, stick-to-your-ribs comfort food makes this a a popular spot in the autumn and winter. Look for dishes featuring truffles and game.
