Fodor's Review

This hot spot on the main promenade in the Jewish Ghetto has been going strong for years. The smart black-and-white with turquoise decor makes the inside as pleasant as the outdoor seating in warmer months. The kitchen is kosher (many places featuring Roman Jewish fare are not), serving meat dishes, and features an assortment of Roman Jewish delights as well as Mediterranean–Middle Eastern Jewish fare. Enjoy starters like phyllo "cigars" stuffed with ground meat and spices, or the mixed dip platter with hummus. Forego pasta for a couscous (the spicy fish is delicious), or baccalà (dried salted cod) with raisins and pinenuts. Down the street is Ba'Ghetto Milky (Via del Portico d'Ottavia 2/a), the kosher dairy version of the original.
