Why We Like It

This huge historic hotel is in the middle of Rome where you'll be steps away from all of the city's best shopping, as well as its main cultural landmarks. Every part of the hotel feels private and luxurious from the immaculate bedrooms to the secluded spa and pool. Hotel staff is almost too attentive. What is really the standout is the incredible garden hidden away from the street. Whether starting your day here for breakfast or ending it here with a nightcap, you'll be able to refresh and recharge among the peaceful foliage and flowers.

Fodor's Expert Review

The Hotel de Russie has been attracting writers and artists throughout its history, for its prime location over Piazza del Popolo and its incredible garden and spa amenities. Rooms and suites throughout have been individually designed. There are an incredible 33 giant suites, our favorite being the Picasso Suite, which is decorated with original lithographs from the Spanish artist who made the hotel his home for three months in 1917. The hotel offers a range of exclusive programs including their "Avenue of style," a program of fashion collaboration for unique shopping experiences with nearby luxury brands, or the new Forte Nourish, which replaces in the in-room minibar with purely healthy options. It constantly updates its offerings, making it a truly unique 5-star property in Rome.

You Should Know The hotel's luxe suites attract a constant stream of celebrities. George Clooney and crew stayed here a month during the filming of Ocean's Twelve.
