Fodor's Review

On a pedestrian-only street near the Pantheon, this lovely little hotel has an air of warmth and serenity, and a rooftop bar with great views. The exterior of this lovely little hotel hasn't changed much since Stendhal stayed here in the 1800s; the interior, however, has been nicely restyled, with soft-green touches and prints of old Rome. Tastefully decorated rooms have hardwood floors, and bathrooms are done in smart two-tone blue marble. The rooftop bar, where guests can enjoy views of Roman rooftops and churches over breakfast or cocktails, is a real gem.

Great Location with Beautiful Rooftop Terrace

The location of Albergo Cesari is unquestionably among the best in town. It is about 5 minutes away from Fontana Trevi, 5 minutes in the other direction from Pantheon, 8 minutes from Piazza Navona, 10 minutes from Foro di Augusto, Foro di Cesare, Foro Traiano and Vittorio Emmanuele Monument. I even walked back to the hotel from Vatican, across Ponte Sant'Angelo, stopping at the Castel Sant'Angelo. It would have taken me about half an hour, had I not

on the way indulged in some gelato, street performances, and opportunities to take photos of so much beauty around me. The staff at the hotel was very pleasant, and the room looked exactly as advertised. A kettle with a selection of Twining's teas was a pleasant surprise for a big tea drinker like me. I felt very safe and walked alone in the area around the hotel well past the midnight. The sumptuous continental breakfast of fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses, artisanal pastries, and authentic Italian espresso or cappuccino is served at the rooftop terrace, dotted with quaint tables under sun umbrellas, and beautiful views of Rome. In the evening, the rooftop turns into a cocktail lounge. If the road takes me to Rome again, I would gladly return to this hotel.
