Fodor's Review:
Given its prime location adjacent to the Parliament, this 16th-century palazzo has been the venue for any number of momentous meetings of Italy's top politicos. In keeping with its national importance, it offers every traditional service and modern comfort: refined but comfortable guest rooms, a bar, a restaurant, meeting rooms, and first-class staff. The second-floor penthouse suite offers a private terrace and amazing views.

nice hotel, inept "reception"

We only stayed at the Nazionale once, because, when we tried to book it the subsequent year, some very inefficient people at the front desk gave us a hard time by writing down our credit number wrong, and then being rude about it. However, the hotel is very close to the Pantheon, beautiful churches, two famous ice cream parlors, and good restaurants. Our deluxe room overlooked Piazza Montecitorio and Parliament buildings. It was even too large, but very spartan. The bathroom had obviously been renovated and was attractive.RATING: 2.6
